The non- refundable registration fee of 60 euro is due upon registration by all participants. Pianists who are accepted to participate are required to pay 240 euro in addition to the registration fee. The master class fee includes two 60 min lessons. Upon request, pianists will be provided with a practice room at Steinway Haus Munich for a free of charge during the course.

Born in Germany in 1970, Mr. Martinez-Mehner began his studies at the “Real Conservatorio de Musica” in Madrid with Amparo Fuster, Pedro Lerma and Joaquín Soriano. He graduated with honors with the title “Profesor Superior de Piano” and won the award for Graduate of the Year in 1989.
Mr. Martinez-Mehner completed his studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow in Russia, the “Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid in Spain, the “Hochschule für Musik Freiburg” in Germany, the “Fondazione per il Pianoforte” in Como in Italy and the “Peabody Conservatory” in Baltimore in the States, studying primarily with Dmitri Bashkirov, Vitalij Margulis and Leon Fleisher. He actively participated in master classes with Murray Perahia, Alexis Weissenberg, Karl-Ulrich Schnabel, Fou Ts’ong, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Mstislav Rostropovich, among many others.
Mr. Martinez-Mehner was a finalist in the Santander International Competition "Paloma O’Shea" and won first prizes in the international competitions "Chimay Foundation" in Belgium, "Pilar Bayona" in Zaragoza in Spain and "Dino Ciani" in Italy.
He has performed all over Europe and the United States, Russia, Central America, Korea and Japan with orchestras such as the Munich Philharmonic, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Teatro alla Scala Philharmonic, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonic, the “Radio Svizzera Italiana”, the “Norddeutsche Rundfunk”, the Hungarian Philharmonic and many Spanish orchestras.
Currently Mr. Martinez-Mehner is a professor at the Basel Music Academy and at the Cologne University of Music. He is frequently invited to teach master classes in Europe, the US and Korea.
