Jingyi Zhang

Winner of the 2012 New York Concert Artist International Concerto Competition, Jingyi Zhang has won top prizes at major competitions including Xing Hai, the Toyoma, the Steinway National, Missouri International Piano Competition. Most recently as the winner of the Juilliard School Concerto Competition in 2012, Ms. Zhang appeared as a soloist with the Juilliard Orchestra at the opening night concert in Alice Tully Hall Lincoln Center. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in October 2009 performing with pianist Lang Lang and friends as part of Carnegie Hall's Ancient Paths, Modern Values, a Festival Celebrating Chinese Culture. 

Ms. Zhang has appeared as a soloist with the St. Louis Philharmonic, the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra in New Mexico, the York Symphony Orchestra, the Juilliard Orchestra, the New York Pops Orchestra and the Beijing Philharmonic. She has performed at Alice Tully Hall, Stern Hall, and Zankel Hall, Steinway Hall, Symphony Space, Frederick P. Rose Hall, Klavier House, Peter Jay Sharp Theater,Markin Hall,Beijing Music Hall, and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. In 2012 Ms. Zhang will be performing in concerts at Los Angles, Boston, Detroit, Chicago, Houston, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenyang.

Ms. Zhang has collaborated with members of the Takacs Quartet, Cho Liang Lin, Gilbert Kalish, Michael Tilson Thomas, Semyon Bychkov and Lang Lang. She has performed at the Music Bridge Summer Festival in Canada,Aspen Music Festival, Pianofest in East Hampton and the Music Academy of the West, where she was the recipient of the Joey Pearson Foundation Full fellowship in solo piano. Ms. Zhang's television appearances include WMBC-TV and Chinese Sinovision TV. Her performances from the Wildflower festival in Pennsylvania was broadcast on New York's WQXR-FM; she also has appeared on National Public Radio's "From The Top."

Born in Shenyang, China, Ms. Zhang began piano studies at the age of four. Following studies at the Beijing Conservatory School of Music, she enrolled at Juilliard's Pre-College Division on a full scholarship studying with Yoheved Kaplinsky. Ms. Zhang earned her bachelor of music degree from the Juilliard School and is currently pursuing her master of music degree with Yoheved Kaplinsky and Choong Mo Kang.
